Lena Beatrice Clarke Bynum, 94, Snow Hill, transitioned, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  There will be a one-hour wake at the church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. All viewing will be held on the day of the service. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, September 1,  2023 at 2:00 PM  at the Lewis Chapel UAFWB Church in Farmville.  Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Farmville.

 She is survived by her sons, Freddie Bynum, Sr., Melvin Bynum, daughters, Ruby J. Joseph, Marylene Sutton, Annie M. Speight, Alma G. Speight, Linda J. Sharpe, Deborah L. Thompson, sisters, Veda Mercer, Alice Clarke Hopkins, Cynthia Clarke, Barbara Brinson, Freida Watson, Regina Smallwood, brothers, Ricky Phillips, Charles Clarke, and Joseph Clarke.  A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
