Edna Earle Harper Dixon, 89, Snow Hill, transitioned, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Lenoir UNC Health Care. She was employed at both the Greene and Wayne County School Systems before retiring from Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston, NC. There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the St. James Presbyterian Church in Snow Hill, NC. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the New Christian Fellowship Center in Snow Hill.  Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery. 

She is survived by her children, Jonelle Diane Davis,​ Snow Hill, NC, Patricia Davis-Thompson​ (Roy) Greensboro, NC Denia Harper​ (Herb) Snow Hill, NC, Clifton E. Best, Jr.,​ Knoxville, Tennessee, Renita Best,​ Snow Hill, NC, Gregory A. Harper​ (Tangie) Snow Hill, NC and ​8 grandchildren including US Congressman Donald G. Davis (Yuvonka Shawnte);  and 4 great-grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends.
